Love to Rent celebrates as entries double for Build to Rent Awards

The Build to Rent Awards 2024, hosted by Love to Rent, is a landmark event recognising excellence in the Build to Rent sector. It has seen remarkable success this year, with over twice the number of entries across all categories compared to the inaugural event in 2023. This significant growth highlights the rising profile of the sector and its importance in delivering quality homes designed with customers in mind. As a platform dedicated to showcasing the breadth and quality of developments catering to a diverse customer base, Love to Rent is committed to elevating industry standards, celebrating innovation, and promoting best practices. The awards not only recognise exceptional projects but also emphasize the value of customer-centric design, sustainability, and community building, shaping the future of residential living in the UK.

Key highlights from this year’s awards include the addition of three new expert judges, representing a wider cross-section of skills and experience in the industry. This expansion was facilitated by the development of a bespoke judging portal, ensuring a smooth and secure process for all participants. Judges have been given eight weeks to independently review and score entries within their respective categories through this secure platform, which allows them to see only their allocated entries and marks.

To ensure a fair and transparent judging process, at least three judges have been assigned to each category. This structure helps balance opinions and provides a comprehensive evaluation. Following the independent judging, all judges convene face to face for a final day of discussion, where they review their combined results, deliberate further, and ultimately decide the winners.

The judges also adhere to a stringent conflict-of-interest policy. Should any conflicts arise, the judge in question steps aside from that category’s decision-making process, ensuring the highest standards of integrity.

The shortlist of finalists have just been announced and will gather together at super boutique hotel The Londoner, overlooking bustling Leicester Square on Friday 25th October where the winners and runners up will be revealed and all participants will have the opportunity to network and afterwards further promote to customers their award-winning homes and the innovative nature of the sector.

“We are very grateful to all the judges for bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, covering a broad spectrum of skills in the Build to Rent and associated industries,” says Anne-Marie Brown, Founder of Love to Rent. “Although a B2B event, the Build to Rent Awards ultimately benefit consumers by spotlighting award-winning homes that focus on innovation and customer-centricity.”

Following the success of the judging process, the team’s attention now turns to the Love to Rent Week, a vital opportunity for operators and associated industries to showcase their innovations, customer-first strategies, and overall contributions to the Build to Rent landscape. The event serves as a crucial platform to amplify the incredible work being done across the industry and engage more deeply with customers.

During Love to Rent Week, those in the industry are encouraged to share details of innovations that sets their developments apart as well as customer stories to highlight the diverse clientele attracted to these homes. This is also the ideal time for industry professionals to collaborate with stakeholders and explore how the sector is addressing evolving customer demands.

“Data from our website searches shows clear trends into what customers want from their homes and it’s no surprise that community, flexibility and modern design are at the top of their list,” adds Anne-Marie. “What may come as a surprise, however, is just how crucial sustainability has become to customers. By leveraging this data, operators can tailor their offerings to meet these demands, ensuring that Build to Rent developments not only provide housing but also enrich the lives of their residents. During the Love to Rent Week, we will be showcasing all innovations that will shape the future of the rental market, helping the sector to build greater trust with customers and reinforce their commitment to delivering high-quality homes and services.”
